Virginia M. "Ginger" Fratalia

Virginia M. “Ginger” Fratalia, 97, of Albion, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Edinboro Manor after a short illness.  She was born November 11, 1918 in Albion, daughter of the late Oran and June (Hochadel) Hamilton.  Ginger was a 97-year member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Albion where she also was involved with the Altar Rosary Society.  She had the honor of being the second oldest member of the parish.  She was also a member of the 500 card club.  She loved pinochle, bingo, baking, watching game shows (especially Steve Harvey), dogs, and watching and feeding birds.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Fratalia, in 1989, a sister, Gladys Folk, a brother, James Hamilton, and a niece, Ann Billak.  Survivors include her daughter, Patti Fratalia and her husband, John Bergmann, of Marietta, GA, a brother, Dorson Hamilton and his wife, Helen, of Erie, her close friend and lifelong caregiver, Rose Beverage of Erie.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and Godchildren.  Calling hours will be held at the Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, on Friday from 11am to 1pm.  A funeral mass will be held at 1pm at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Fr. Philip Oriole officiating.  Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Girard.  Memorials may be made to the Albion Volunteer Fire Department, 19 Smock Ave., Albion, PA  16401 or to Canine Companions of SE Division, 8150 Clarcona Ocoee Road, Orlando, FL  32818.  To send flowers, light a memory candle or leave a condolence, please visit www.matterafuneralhome.com

Dear Patti so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. I used to call her when I could not find Miss Kenny and we would talk about Albion. She was a very kind lady
