Richard J. “Dick” Briody, 83, of Edinboro, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born April 18, 1943 in Philadelphia, a son of the late Charles and Lillian (Mulch) Briody.  Dick graduated from Strong Vincent High School and retired from GE as Senior Designer after 30 years of service.  He proudly served with the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He was past president of the IFPTE Local 138, the CBC for the IFPTE, and the GE ALC.  He was a life member of the Girard American Legion Post 494.  Dick enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, and he loved attending his grandchildren’s sports events, rodeos, and especially spending time with his beloved Tayler Anne.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Briody.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy (Michaelson) Briody, three children; Shannon Briody and his wife, Cheryl, of Harborcreek, Shawn Briody and his wife, Kelly, of Fairview, Beth Fox and her husband, Tony, of Edinboro.  Also surviving are his loving grandchildren; Tayler, Riley, Samuel, Grant, Rachael (Kris).  Services will be held privately by the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in order to set up a trust fund for family and friends with medical conditions.  The Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, is handling the funeral arrangements.  To light a memory candle or leave a condolence, please visit www.matterafuneralhome.com
