Duane Eugene Willey, 82, of Cranesville, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023.  He was born March 24, 1941 in Meadville, a son of the late Edward and Edna (Loper) Willey.  Duane graduated from McKean High School and attended Edinboro State College.  He served two years Military Service with the United States Army, serving 18 months in Germany with the Military Police.  He retired in May of 2001 from the US Postal Service after 32 years as a rural letter carrier.  Duane was a member of and very active in the Zem Zem Shrine Center in Erie, the Edinboro Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite.  He was a former Mayor of Cranesville and also served on the planning commission for several years.  He loved his dream house, supervising the entire time it was being built.  He enjoyed his cats, taking pictures and gardening.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Heim.  He is survived by his loving wife, Jacklyn “Jackie” (Estok) Willey, a son, Jason Willey and his wife, Claudia, two grandchildren, Jesse and Claire Willey, and a brother, Edward Willey.  Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.  A funeral service will be held there on Friday at 11am.  Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Wellsburg, with full military honors.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA  16505.  To light a memory candle or leave a condolence, please visit www.matterafuneralhome.com
