Gordon Thomas Lorance "Tony"
Gordon Thomas Lorance “Tony” passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 peacefully at home after a valiant two-year fight against pancreatic cancer. He was born on December 19, 1950, in Corpus Christi, Texas, the son of James and Ruby Lorance. He is survived by the love of his life for more than 50 years, Susan Lorance (Phillips), his two daughters, Kelly Kovacs (Stephen) and Joanna Lorance, and his grandchildren Julianna Elliott, Luke and Logan Kovacs. He is also survived by six siblings, Ilene Hosey (John), Brenda Collier, James Lorance (Roberta), Barbara Brown, Kay Baughman (Danny), and Jerry Lorance. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Krueger and Dorothy Lorance. Tony served seven years in the United States Army and then set his roots in Springfield Township. He retired from SCI Albion in 2011. Tony was a devoted husband, dad, and Papa. He was happiest when enjoying time with the people he loved. He volunteered countless hours with Northwestern Little League and then with Northwestern Girls Softball. He enjoyed the sport and loved his girls. Gordon also enjoyed hunting, gardening with his wife, and being outdoors. If you were lucky enough to know Tony you were fortunate enough to know you were well loved as he spread it everywhere he went. A Celebration of Life will be held at Mattera Funeral Home 188 East State St, Albion, on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 4-7pm, followed by a prayer service at 7pm with Pastor Dr. Ed Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Northwestern Lady Cats Softball Building Fund, 97 Norton Rd, Albion, PA 16401, in memory of Tony Lorance. Dear Sue, Kelly & Joanna, my heart aches for you today. Tony was such a great guy and he certainly had a huge heart. He will be remembered by so many for that.
