Irvin B. Smith Jr.

Irvin B. Smith Jr., 87, of Albion, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital.  He was born April 13, 1935 in Erie, son of the late Irvin and Agnes Smith.  Irvin served with the US Marine Corps during the Korean War.  He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Albion.  He enjoyed draft horses and driving school bus.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlene Schwartz, his second wife, Patricia Smith, a grandson, Joshua Benton, and a sister, Edith.  He is survived by seven children, Terry Nearhoof (Linda) of Erie, Wendy Pearson (Dave) of Tampa, FL, Karen Randall (Gary) of Albion, Frank Sikora (Wendy) of Albion, Robert Sikora of Cranesville, Lisa Sikora (Chuck) of Albion, Deana Brockett of Albion.  Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 180 East State Street, Albion, with Fr. Marc Solomon officiating.  Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Wellsburg.  The Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, is handling the funeral arrangements.  To light a memory candle or leave a condolence, please visit www.matterafuneralhome.com
