Frederick Lee DeArment, 81, of Hermitage, PA, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022. He was born July 3, 1941, a son of the late Eugene and Ruth (Bright) DeArment. Fred served with the United States Air Force, leaving in 1982 after 27 years of service. He was a Master Sargent during the Vietnam War and received the Meritorious Service Medal. He was a semi-world champion in table tennis, enjoyed taekwondo and karate, was an avid reader of sci-fi and he liked fast cars. Fred belonged to Mensa and was a member of the Masons. He is survived by a sister, Claire Jean Bishop, a brother, Richard Alvin DeArment Sr., immediate niece and nephews, Dawn Compton, Richard DeArment Jr., Paul Free, grand niece and nephews, Richard DeArment III, Elizabeth Olivares Estes, Christopher Paul Olivares, great-grand nephews, Calcipher Estes and Sebastian Estes. A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Monday at 10am in Albion Cemetery. The Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, is handling the funeral arrangements.
