Rebecca "Becky" Ann Pintea (Tobin)

Becky left her earthly bounds to be with the angels on Friday, October 15th, 2021 three years after her diagnosis with breast cancer. She was born on March 9th, 1957 in Erie, Pa. Daughter of the late Norma (Smock) Tobin and George Arnold Tobin. Becky met her husband of 41 years, Greg, at Goofy’s Nightclub in Conneaut, Ohio after good friends Susan Kennedy and Jim Sparber played matchmaker and introduced them. They have been best friends and soulmates ever since. Becky is survived by her husband Gregory Pintea whom she married on September 20, 1980. Sons Jason (Susan) Pintea and Jon (Jennifer) Pintea both of Erie, PA. Granddaughter Claire Pintea. Father George Arnold Tobin and Stepmother Phyliss Tobin. Brother Michael (Chrissy) Tobin, Cranesville PA. and brother Douglas Tobin, Albion PA. Preceded in death by her mother Norma (Smock) Tobin and sister Darlene Walker, Ocala Florida. Becky graduated from Northwestern High School in 1975 and received an Associate Degree from Edinboro University. She accomplished this lifetime goal by going to night school in her 50’s. Becky was active in girls’ basketball, volleyball and track. She was always proud to be a trailblazer being on some of the first girls’ athletic teams in the 1970’s. Becky was the only one in a family of golfers to have sunk a Hole in One at the old Highlander Golf course in Edinboro, Pa and never let us forget it. She was active in the Drama Club which she continued as an adult in the Albion Summer Theater Programs. Being a Pisces Becky loved the water and enjoyed spending time in the pool and on the family sailboat. She took up photography as a hobby in her 50’s and has taken many beautiful photos of local landscapes and anything in nature that caught her eye that adorn the walls of her home. Becky was a dedicated and loyal employee for 45 years at Erie Ceramic Arts, which later became American Trim. She worked her way up in the company after starting as a production line worker and finishing as the Human Resource Manager. She always believed in treating everyone as an equal. Solving whatever problems needed solved, whatever it took. Becky was active in the Albion Area Lions Club as Treasurer and was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award in 2020. Becky’s greatest love and joy was her granddaughter, Claire. She firmly believed in spoiling her as only a Granny can. She always advised and taught her to be “organized” in life. She had a special place in her heart for her nephew and nieces, T.J. Dimon, Kelly Mcgee, and Suzie Smith, and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank Dr. David Seastone and the staff at UPMC Cancer Center for their kind care during the past 3 years. And special thanks to Stacy and Asceracare Hospice team for guiding her through her last few weeks with us. Donations in Becky’s name came be made to the Albion Area Lions Club, P.O. Box 366, Albion, PA 16401. Calling hours will be held at the Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Albion on Wednesday at 11am with Fr. James Kennelley officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Crossingville.
