Linda J. Kirsch

Linda Jeanne (DeLong) Kirsch, age 73 of Erie, entered Heaven Friday, June 25, 2021 from her home surrounded by loved ones after a brief, but courageous, battle with cancer. Born August 13, 1947, she was the eldest child of the late Merle and Alice (Myers) DeLong. Linda was a graduate of Northwestern High School and attended Triangle Tech later in life. She worked at Lakeshore Frozen Foods, Rich Products, and Lowe’s in various positions. She enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, baking, sewing, crafting, and collecting beach glass. She liked watching her flowers bloom and her tomatoes grow. Her favorite hobby was collecting and sharing Legos. Her grandchildren received Lego sets for every birthday and Christmas for many years. Linda is survived by her four loving children, Vicki (Bob) Zurn, Jeff Kirsch (Kristen), Shana Kirsch (Ryan), and Rick (Angie) Kirsch; eight grandchildren, Nichole, David Anthony, Lindsay, Rob, Cheyanne, Mercedes, Sarah, and Dakota; and four great-grandchildren, Marzi, Hayden, Jakeson, and Conway. She is also survived by her three siblings, Jim (Jackie) DeLong, Denny (Jan) DeLong, and Sue Spaulding; nephews, Denny, Bryan, Chad, and Ryan; nieces, Nikki and Justina; and many grandpets. Private arrangements were made by the Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, PA 16401. Contributions can be made in Linda’s memory to her happy place of the Erie Zoo at 423 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508. To light a memory candle or leave a condolence, please visit

Our sympathy to Rick and Angie. We will miss seeing your mom working in her yard or feeding the cats. Whenever we were walking our dog and she was out, we would converse with her and we will miss that. She was always so pleasant to talk to. Definitely gone too soon.

Hard to find the words to express our deepest sympathy. Linda was one of the sweetest and hardest working women we have ever met. We will miss her soft voice and that irresistible giggle that she always had during our wonderful talks. Rest is peace Linda, you will be forever missed. Love you Shana
