Michael L. Cowger

Michael L. Cowger, 61, of Cranesville, passed away suddenly at home due to natural causes on Monday, May 10, 2021. He was born November 30, 1959 in Cranesville, a son of the late Herman and Pauline (Rose) Cowger. He graduated from Northwestern High School where he starred in several sports to include football and basketball. Michael also attended Erie County Technical School. His achievements were often noted in the local paper. He worked as a draftsman for the former Amsco and later went on to attend Jamestown Community College where he studied and became a registered nurse. He was a faith oriented person who enjoyed working to help others. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, and his family who meant the world to him. He is survived by a daughter, Nicole Boyer of Erie, a son, Keith Cowger of Erie, four grandchildren, Morrighan, Bella, Quinton and his most recently born grandson Liam. Michael is also survived by his companion, Roben Blue of Cranesville, a brother, Daryl Cowger and his wife, Kathy, of Albion, a sister, Denise Spiegel and her husband, Paul, of Harborcreek, and many close friends. Michael’s children would like to honor Roben Blue for her unconditional love and care not only to Michael, but to their grandmother Pauline Cowger during their final years of life. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10am at the Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, with Pastor David Bousquet officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Michael to Northwestern High School Athletic Department, 100 Harthan Way, Albion, PA 16401 or to any local Alcoholics Anonymous gathering.
