Robin R. Cowher, 71, of West Springfield, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at her daughter’s residence. She was born December 4, 1948 in Conneaut, OH, a daughter of the late Edward and Phyllis (Wheeler) Peterson. Robin received her Master’s Degree from nursing school and made the Dean’s List four times. She was a member of the West Springfield VFW and over the years she owned and operated several restaurants in the area. She enjoyed candle making, cooking and baking. She will be missed dearly by her family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Barry Cowher, a daughter, Tammy Henderson, and a sister, Star Kruger. She is survived by three children, Kim Thompson and her husband, Brian, of Louisville, KY, Bummer Fiala and his wife, Melissa, of West Springfield, Carlie Chamberlain and her husband, Jerry, of Albion, three brothers, Fred Peterson and his wife, Nancy, of Kingsville, OH, Frank Peterson of Albion, Darrell Peterson of Conneaut, OH. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. No calling hours or service will be held. Burial will be private by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Robin to Family Hospice, a part of UPMC Hamot. The Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, is handling the funeral arrangements.
