Mary C. Miller

Mary C. Miller, 88, of Albion, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at St. Vincent Health Center.  She was born in Gipsy, PA, on November 13, 1929, a daughter of the late John and Susan (Harchorik) Malise.  Mary was an active member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Albion, and church was very important to her.  She was a member of T.O.P.S. in Albion.  Mary loved Chinese food, going to the movies and the beach, baking, cooking, spending time with her family and grandchildren, going to coffee with her friend Audrey, and going to her grandchildren’s baseball games.  In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bliss Miller, a daughter, Sandra Miller, a son, Robert Miller, two sisters, Margaret Griffith and Martha Veleski, and four brothers, Adam Malise, John Malise, Martin Malise and Raymond Malise.  She is survived by four children, Diane Hanas and her husband, George, of Conneaut, OH, Joseph Miller and his wife, Maria, of Denver, NC, Thomas Miller and his wife, Jessica, of Barberton, OH, and Marianne Pacansky and her husband, Jay, of East Springfield, her sister, Anna Pecek, of Brooklyn, OH, a brother, James Malise and his wife, Karen, of Cleveland, OH, her sister, Carol McKinney of Cleveland, OH, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Calling hours will be held at the Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, on Sunday from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.  A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Albion, at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. James Kennelley officiating.  Burial will be private by the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church at 180 E. State Street, Albion, PA, 16401, or to the Albion Volunteer Fire Department, 19 Smock Ave., Albion, PA  16401.  To send flowers, light a memory candle or leave a condolence, please visit
